Active Composition
- Omeprazole Sodium (equivalent to Omeprazole 40mg) per vial
- Diluent: Sterile Water for Injection (USP) – 10ml
Product Description
Nagzole Injection is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for rapid and effective suppression of stomach acid. It is specially formulated for intravenous use in patients who cannot take oral medication or require immediate acid control in hospital settings.
Mechanism of Action
Omeprazole works by inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in the gastric parietal cells.
This action:
- Blocks final step of acid production
- Significantly reduces gastric acid secretion
- Promotes healing of ulcers and erosions
Uses / Indications
Nagzole Injection is used in:
- Severe GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease)
- Peptic Ulcers (gastric & duodenal)
- Erosive Esophagitis
- Upper GI bleeding (adjunct therapy)
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- Stress ulcer prophylaxis (ICU patients)
- When oral therapy is not possible
